Join us at the Lincoln Museum for a symposium run by 2nd Year Fine Art students at the University of Lincoln, reflecting on Grayson Perry’s touring exhibition, “The Vanity of Small Differences”, which recently visited Lincoln Museum (23 September 2023 until 21 January 2024).
This symposium will explore the profound themes of class mobility and the influence of social class on aesthetic taste as depicted in Perry’s thought-provoking tapestries. Through nine 20-minute presentations, Tapestries of Taste will explore themes of class mobility and the influence of social class on aesthetic taste as depicted in Perry’s thought-provoking tapestries.

A vibrant and intricate tapestry. It features a rainbow arcing over a neighbourhood with houses, cars, and people. On the right side, an indoor scene shows individuals gathered around a table filled with food. The artwork is rich in detail and color, creating a lively and dynamic composition.
