If this world is a rehearsal for the next, is death the opening night?
Superstition holds that when a theatre is closed, a light must always be left on to illuminate the stage and appease the spirits. Because every theatre is haunted. All of them.
Ghost Light is a modern-day Danse Macabre, devised by a fearless ensemble cast of 1st-year theatre makers. On their stage they find themselves trapped within echoes of the past, between self and character, striving to complete a show that never really started. Their performance is a poetic, abstract meditation on being trapped between worlds: a postdramatic memento mori that questions fragility and finality, ephemerality and eternity.
